We recently launched our new Cloud Hosting services featuring three new plans, Mega Squid (2 GB disk space and 75 GB bandwidth for $8/month), Ultra Squid (3 GB disk space and 150 GB bandwidth for $12/month) and Super Squid (4GB disk space and 200GB bandwidth for $16/month). Here is more information on our new cloud hosting service and the advantages it offers over our standard web hosting services. If you are an existing customer, here’s more information on how to move over to our cloud hosting. NOTE: We do not provide any access to the internet such as dial-up service, DSL, cable and so on. You will still need to have the means to connect to the internet to access and update a website that we host for you.
Disk Space
Disk space (storage) is the total amount of space that is used by all of the files associated with your site, including log files and MySQL databases. Email storage is a separate quota. You will automatically receive an email from the server when you exceed your disk space quota. The email will be sent to the email address that is associated with your control panel.
Additional disk space will automatically be billed at $1.00 per additional 100 MB (rounded to up to the next 100 MB block) each month that exceeds the storage quota associated with your hosting plan. There is a 1 GB (1024 MB) maximum disk space per domain, we do not host websites larger than 1 GB. If you are on our Tiny Squid or Basic Squid plan and you think that you are going to be consistently over your quota you might consider upgrading to our Giant Squid plan.
If you are looking for more disk space, the hosting plans on our new cloud hosting service range from 1GB-4GB of disk space.
Bandwidth (Traffic)
Bandwidth is the total amount of data transferred from the server each month and this number increases as your website is accessed more often. The more visitors you have, the greater the bandwidth you will have each month. This figure is also influenced by the size and type of files visitors are requesting, ie. audio and video files use up much more data transfer than text and images. You will automatically receive an email from the server when you exceed your bandwidth quota. The email will be sent to the email address that is associated with your control panel.
Additional bandwidth will automatically be billed at $1.50 per 1 GB (rounded to up to the next 1 GB block) each month that exceeds the transfer quota associated with your hosting plan. If you are on our Tiny Squid or Basic Squid plan and you think that you are going to be consistently over your quota, you might consider upgrading to our Giant Squid plan.
If you are looking for more bandwidth, the hosting plans on our new cloud hosting service range from 50GB-200GB of monthly bandwidth.
Email Storage
Email storage is the total amount of server space that can be used by each mailbox associated with your domain.
This is a hard quota, so if it is exceeded, then any new email sent to your mailbox will bounce back to the sender until you free up some space by deleting/downloading old mail (including deleting sent mail). If you are on our Tiny Squid or Basic Squid plan and you need to increase the amount of email storage associated with your domain, you will need to upgrade to our Giant Squid plan.
If you are looking for a larger email quota, the hosting plans on our new cloud hosting service come with a 1GB quota per mailbox.
