  1. Do you recommend any blog scripts? #

    Laughing Squid highly recommends WordPress. We think it’s the best blog script out there. For more info on WordPress, please see our WordPress FAQ.

    We also support other popular blog scripts including Movable Type.

  2. Many of our customers use Coppermine Photo Gallery and Gallery and singapore, all open source, image gallery scripts that use PHP and MySQL.

    Another option would be to create your photo galleries using an online photo gallery service like Flickr and then link to the galleries from your website. Flickr supports many blog scripts and includes numerous features such as a slide show option.

  3. Can you recommend an easy way to setup a feedback/contact form? #

    Check out Wufoo, a free HTML form builder.

  4. Do you recommend any discussion board or forum scripts? #

    A couple of open source forum script sthat some of our customers are bbPress and Vanilla.

  5. Do you recommend any shopping cart scripts? #

    We don’t have any specific recommendations, but here are some PHP e-commerce and shopping cart scripts.

  6. Do you recommend any content management system (CMS) scripts? #

    An open source, CMS script that some of our customers use is Drupal. This script uses PHP and MySQL.

  7. Do you recommend any Wiki programs? #

    MediaWiki is a free Wiki software package licensed under the GNU General Public License (GPL). It’s the wiki script that is used by Wikipedia.

    favicons are those little graphics that show up in a browser’s url window, bookmarks, newsreaders, etc. For example, here’s the one we use for all of our Laughing Squid websites. You can easily create one for your website using an existing graphic. Here are a few favicon resources that will walk you through the process:
