Please enter a support ticket through our Help Desk.

Our hosting plans, pricing and features can be found on our Hosting Plans page.
How do you update account information, billing method or credit card information? #
Please use our secure Account Update Form.
How do you change the hosting plan for a domain? #
Please use our Hosting Plan Change Form.
What forms of payment are available? #
We only accept payment by credit card, either Visa, Master Card or American Express.
We do not take payment by check or money order.
What billing periods are available? #
All of our hosting charges are billed monthly. You will be invoiced on the 1st of each month at the rate associated with your current hosting plan.
At what point is a credit card charged for hosting service? #
Once your account has been setup on our servers, your credit card will be charged for the pro-rated balance of that month. After that, on the first of every month your credit card will automatically be charged the full amount associated with your web hosting plan.
Once your credit card has been charged, you will be sent an invoice via email (we do not send out invoices via U.S. mail) and the charge will show up on your credit card statement.
NOTE: If you have a debit/check card that works like a Visa or Master Card, you can use that to pay your hosting charges, just make sure you have enough funds in your bank account to cover the charges.
NOTE: Laughing Squid will not cancel a web hosting account without a completed Account Cancellation Form.
Is there a discount for hosting more than one domain with Laughing Squid? #
Yes, if you host or forward more than one domain with us then our multiple domain discount will be automatically applied to your account. To qualify for this discount, all domains need to be billed to the same web hosting account on one invoice.
NOTE: This discount can be combined with our “starving artist” discount or non-profit discount. To qualify for this discount, all domains need to be billed to the same web hosting account on one invoice.
NOTE: You will need to choose a hosting plan for each domain that you want to have hosted. Multiple domains cannot share the same hosting plan or disk space, however you can bill multiple domains to the same hosting account, which will qualify you for our multiple domain discount. You can also use our Forwarding Squid plan to redirect one domain to another domain or sub-directory of another domain.
How do you get the “starving artist” discount for placing a “Powered by Laughing Squid” button on a website? #
Our starving artist discount is available to individuals or organizations who add our "Powered by Laughing Squid" button to the main page of each website that will have the discount.
For a black button, use this html:
<a href="http://laughingsquid.com/"><img src="http://laughingsquid.net/images/powered_black.gif" width="150" height="50" style="border:0" alt="Powered by Laughing Squid" /></a>
For a white button, use this html:
<a href="http://laughingsquid.com/"><img src="http://laughingsquid.net/images/powered_white.gif" width="150"height="50" style="border:0" alt="Powered by Laughing Squid" /></a>
To qualify for our “starving artist” discount, you need to cut-and-paste this code onto the main page of each website that will have the discount. If you are a new customer, you need to do this within the first month of service or your hosting charges will revert back to our standard rate for your selected hosting plan.
Once you add back our "Powered by Laughing Squid" button, just let us know through our Help Desk and we will re-apply the discount to your account. If your billing period was reverted to monthly, you can ask us switch it back to a pre-payment period by filling out our Account Update Form.
If you are an existing customer and would like to have the “starving artist” discount applied to a domain that you host with us, then just add the “Powered by Laughing Squid” button to the main page of the website for that specific domain and then let us know by entering a support ticket through our Help Desk.
In order to continue to receive our “starving artist” discount, you will need to make sure to keep our “powered by Laughing Squid” button on the main page of each website that has the discount. If you re-design your website, be sure to add the button back to your main page. Our billing system conducts periodic audits to check for this button and if it is missing, then the “starving artist” discount will be automatically removed from the domain that fails the audit.
You do not need to be an artist, artistic or even starving to qualify for this discount, in fact many well-fed, non-artistic customers have chosen to apply this discount to their account.
NOTE: This discount can be combined with our multiple domain discount, but not our non-profit discount.
Is there a discount for non-profit organizations? #
Yes, if you are a true non-profit with a 501(c)(3) status then you can qualify for our non-profit discount. You will need to first mail or fax the appropriate paperwork to us, before we will apply the discount:
Laughing Squid
PO Box 77633
San Francisco, CA 94107-0633
415-358-9915 fax
NOTE: This discount can be combined with our multiple domain discount, but not our “starving artist” discount.
Who do you pay for domain registration and how much does it cost? #
You can register a domain through the domain registrar of your choice. The prices will vary from registrar to registrar. Check out our Domain FAQ for more info.
How do you cancel hosting for one or more domains? #
Just fill out our Account Cancellation Form and your domain(s) will be deactivated within 48 hours or less from the time that this form is submitted (Monday through Friday).
Laughing Squid will not deactivate hosting for a domain without a completed cancellation form. The customer is liable for all services rendered and billed up until the time that the account is cancelled. Hosting charges are not pro-rated when an account is cancelled. As long as the cancellation form is completed prior to the first of the next month, the customer will not be billed beyond the current month. Please refer to our Account Cancellation Form for additional information related to domain hosting deactivation.
